Zastron regards environmental protection activities as one of the important management responsibility. Zastron has been carrying out green procurement activities to preserve the earth’s environment. Recently attention to environmental issues has been enlightened as regulations become stricter to protect the global environment and safe lives. Specifically, EU’s RoHS Directive was enforced on 1 July 2006.
To ensure the safety of our products, Zastron has established environment-related substances management system, the system ensured developing and producing a Green product by controlling and managing the environment-related substances in the total life cycle of the product. In order to promote green procurement, Zastron issued the ‘Green purchasing standard’ as early as in February 2003, and revised in October 2004 and September 2005. Suppliers are requested that their products must meet the standard and to provide ‘Guarantee of Non-use of banned substances’. Zastron will utilize the partnerships established with our qualified suppliers to manufacture our products. In 2005, Zastron cost about RMB1.5 million to set up the RoHS lab equipped with advanced laboratory instrumentation, including ICP-OES, UV-vis and other RoHS compatible test methods, to analyze and check our components and products.
Zastron declare that all products can meet customer’s requirement, and Zastron will continue to work toward reduction of environmental impact. |
